The parking brake can be released without the engine running. Turn the key until the 'ignition' is on. Put your foot on the footbrake, and press the 'handbrake' button. You may have to use the button again to reapply the brake, although if you start the engine and stop it again the brake should apply. Feb 6, 2013 · Hi, I've got a C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi BMP 2008. Every time I power it up it displays "PARKING BRAKE FAULTY" and after a while "ESP / ASR FAULTY". The code reader gave P0087, P0093 and P1113, which after searching on the forum looks like a fuel leak, water in fuel or blocked fuel filter. After checking the facts sheets I found I have the Bosch filter type.
